چکیده
Material and Methods We report 30 patients attended at our hospital between January 2008 and September 2010 who were diagnosed with food allergies, renal tubular acidosis and IgA /IgG4 deficiency. Food allergy was confirmed by an oral challenge to cow’s milk, soy, egg, wheat and corn in addition to IgE levels for cow’s milk, egg, soy, wheat and corn as well as patch test. IgA deficiency was considering as serum IgA levels below 5 mg per dl, IgG4 levels below the percentile described according to the patient age. Complete blood cell count (CBC) were performed in all patients being in normal levels. Renal tubular acidosis considering a HCO3 level below 21 electrolyte and urinary criteria.

Distal Renal Tubular Acidosis Screening by Urinary Acidification Testing in Mexican Children.
BACKGROUND Primary distal renal tubular acidosis is a clinical disorder characterized by hyperchloremic metabolic acidosis, hypercalciuria, hypocitraturia, urinary acidification impairment, hypokalemia, metabolic bone disease, and nephrocalcinosis. Urinary acidification ability may be evaluated by an acidification test or maximum urinary pCO2 assessment with alkaline urine. The maximum urinary ...
متن کاملImmunoglobulin IgG, IgM, IgA, and IgE Levels in Children with Chronic Sinusitis
Background and purpose: Sinusitis is a common disease in children that can lead to acute and chronic problems and sometimes severe complications. There is lack of evidence on underlying causes of chronic sinusitis in children in Iran, so, this study aimed to investigate the prevalence of humoral immune deficiency in patients with chronic sinusitis. Materials and methods: This cross-sectional s...
متن کاملDistal Renal Tubular Acidosis with Grade 4 Vesicoureteral Reflux in a Child with Single Kidney
Introduction Renal tubular acidosis (RTA) is a non-uremic defects of urinary acidification. It is characterized by a normal anion gap hyperchloremic metabolic acidosis; plasma potassium may be normal, low or high-depending on the type of RTA. These syndromes differ from uremic acidosis which is associated with a high anion gap, decreased glomerular filtration with enhanced proton secretion b...
متن کاملPROLONGED PARALYSIS AS AN UNUSUAL PRESENTATION OF RENAL TUBULAR ACIDOSIS
A case of renal tubular acidosis (RTA) who had gradual onset of paralysis of lower extremities and persisted for a long time is presented. His primary workups were mistaken for muscular dystrophy. Eventually, an abdominal ultrasonography revealed small stones in both of the kidneys and his workup for the stones were in favor of distal renal tubular acidosis and advanced rickets with hypokal...
متن کاملRelationship between rickets and incomplete distal renal tubular acidosis in children
BACKGROUND In the Sub Saharan Africa Rickets has now been established to be due primarily to calcium deficiency and sometimes in combination with vitamin D deficiency. The main thrust of management is calcium supplementation with or without vitamin D. An observation was made that some children with nutritional rickets do not respond to this management modality. The recently reported high preval...
